The Lens, The Archive, and the Spirit of Arles My journey into art didn't begin with a brush, but with a moment of profound silence in a closed museum. Years ago, while studying Histoire de l'Art in Strasbourg as part of my French language studies, I was granted a rare gift. Our professor, who was the director of the Musée de l'Ancienne Douane, invited a small group of just seven students to view a traveling collection of Van Gogh paintings after hours. Standing alone in those quiet galleries before the masterpieces were sent to their permanent home in the Netherlands, I saw the thick, rhythmic brushwork of Van Gogh up close, without the crowds. That evening left an indelible mark on my soul. It taught me that paint isn't just color—it is energy, history, and physical presence. From Documentary to the Easel For much of my professional life, I worked as a documentalist. I learned how to observe, how to archive, and how to tell the stories of others. But that memory of Strasbourg—the 'happy few' standing before those vibrant canvases—always lived within me. Today, I have returned to that initial spark. My work in acrylic and oil is an exploration of that same tactile energy. Whether I am painting a 20x20cm floral study or a larger landscape, I strive to capture the 'documentary truth' of a flower’s life through the rich, impasto textures that first captivated me decades ago. Welcome to my gallery. I hope these pieces bring a sense of that same quiet wonder I felt in Strasbourg to your own home.

De la Doc à la Toile

Mon éveil artistique ne s'est pas fait avec un pinceau, mais dans le silence du Musée de l'Ancienne Douane à Strasbourg. Étudiante en Histoire de l'Art, j'ai eu le privilège rare d'observer seule les chefs-d'œuvre de Van Gogh. Cette rencontre avec la matière et l'énergie du mouvement a marqué mon âme pour toujours. Après une carrière de documentaliste dédiée aux récits des autres, je reviens aujourd'hui à cette étincelle initiale. À travers l'huile et l'acrylique, je cherche à capturer la « vérité documentaire » de la nature. Mes fleurs et paysages sont une exploration de la texture et de la lumière, un hommage à l'émerveillement que j'ai ressenti face aux toiles du maître hollandais.
